I think the advantage of the Soundgrid system is not just that it allows for audio-over-ethernet (lots of systems do that), but that it allows you to offload your plugin processing to an external device. I don't quite know what the benefit of that is in a non-live setting unless you want to run huge...

Re: The "Crowds" Library
meh, I wish I could've gotten in on this, but I just wound up being way busier this fall than I expected. I guess that's better than the alternative.

Re: The "Crowds" Library
Keep in mind that Windows also imposes tighter limits on filename lengths than OSX does. I forget what the limit is, but I know I've gone over it when unzipping on my PC commercial libraries that were developed on a Mac.

Re: Home Listening Setup
I only have one system that handles all of my gaming, dev, daw, tv, etc duties and I'm currently only on stereo. Upgrading to surround would be a considerable investment for me, but one I hope to make in the next couple years.

Re: Idea Pool for A New Crowdsourced Library
I just remembered that a while ago, I was digging through crowd recordings in one of the big sfx collections (Sound Ideas or HE, I forget) and there was one recording where, a little ways in, there was a women off to one side talking about shaving *down there*.

Re: Using Various EQs
Not typically. I don't like the phasey wah-wah effect you can get on the outer edges of the notches with some eq's (hardware or software), so I usually stick with Ozone or one of the other iZotope eq's, which don't do that.
