Re: 9 Sounds That No One Can Explain

The Hum is terrifying. Is crypto field recordist a viable career path? I happened to jump to the same clip in the video for The Hum and Skyquakes. The Skyquakes one has audio added. The Hum https://youtu.be/p6EUxyL2U6Y?t=766 Skyquakes https://youtu.be/0KgKkJXLsOo?t=43 Doesn't mean it didn't happen b...

Re: Developing for Oculus Rift and VR Platforms

You mentioned hardware, but I've been playing with 3Dception. With any of the binaural plugins, they want a mono file to do their magic so that could complicate things if you also want to create a mix for people playing without headphones. It seems like a lot of these early VR games coming out are a...

Re: Unreal Editor 4 and Wwise

Cool. I'm noticing simple things like not being able to add an AK Event to Matinee's but maybe that's something missing, and needing to be integrated still. Yeah I haven't touched matinee yet. How are you getting around that? Adding regular event tracks that point to AK events in blueprints? The in...

Re: Unreal Editor 4 and Wwise

Yeah I went through the process of doing the UE4 integration Audiokinetic released a couple months ago. It was a little tricky and took a lot of patience but once it's up and running it's pretty cool. You can have Wwise up, do play-in-editor in UE4 and the the profiler can connect to that. Adjust a ...

Re: Using Various EQs

I like V-EQ4 because you can click in all your settings as opposed to dragging a mouse around. I try not to nit-pick with EQ frequencies so this helps with that.

Oh and something about vintage and warmnesserizing. I mean, it does have an Analog button.

Re: Idea Pool for A New Crowdsourced Library

I like the idea of the Walla library though realistically it will probably be an "Urban Environments" library. As Graham pointed out, you don't want specific words sticking out which can be hard to achieve. Also the only places I can go where there would be a crowd, would also have a lot of backgrou...

Re: Idea Pool for A New Crowdsourced Library

-synths The format could be really simple like attack, sustain and release or similarly the on, loop and off parts of a synth sound. I imagine that the on and off parts could have a fair amount of movement in them and people could pull various things out of those clips. Loops are good for game stuff...

All of the transformations in the Transformers

"TSCHE-CHU-CHU-CHU-TSCHE" is the correct spelling for the sound apparently. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformation

Here's 10 minutes of amazing sound design.
