OP-1 From Teenage Engineering
So I had a brief chat with a Twitter buddy this morning about the OP-1 and I thought this would be a great place to get some feedback on it. I've been eying this little synth for a long time. If it was $400-500 I probably would already have one by now. It's just been hard for me to jump in at that p...

Re: The "World Ambience SFX Library"
Yea, I agree. That's very useful. I think we can squeeze the location and time of day into the filename and put the season in metadata.tristanhorton wrote:For me it would be important to know the Location, Season and Time of day.
Please consider including these elements in the Naming and/or metadata

Re: The "World Ambience SFX Library"
Would it be possible to get a "soft list" of proposed recordings? I have an idea what I'd like to record, but if 50 others will be doing something similar--albeit in a different country--I would probably want to record something different. It would be "unfortunate" if 80% of us recorded traffic. A ...

Re: The "World Ambience SFX Library"
I can do both daytime and nighttime recording, as I work shiftwork so I'm awake at both of those times :) I like this idea a lot! I'll probably put it as a request - submit one day as well as one night recording but it isn't a requirement. We might end up getting a lot of crickets and cicadas thoug...

The Sound Design For Modern Automobiles
A great article about the work that goes into the sound design of a modern automobile. From the hardware to the software. https://medium.com/thoughtful-design/c23c5fb86266 But as you reduce the speed that the drive shaft is rotating, you lower the frequency of the sound it’s making. There comes a lo...

"Listen" To Wikipedia
Pretty pleasant project where sounds are queued depending on the edits made to Wikipedia. http://listen.hatnote.com/ Bells are additions, strings are subtractions. There’s something reassuring about knowing that every user makes a noise, every edit has a voice in the roar. (Green circles are anonymo...

Re: The "World Ambience SFX Library"
I'd love to see more 5.1 ambiances, maybe a future venture? Same here! Let's get this one out the door and see how big the library gets. It's going to sit on an FTP somewhere once it's been cleaned up and ready to go so file size is a consideration. Also, If things go well we can always revisit the...
