Re: The "Winter" Library
Just got some cool (no pun) sounds this morning before work. I'm hoping for some additional inspiration, though I'm glad that we're not getting the same weather the East Coast is getting right now (be safe, folks!).

Oh man, I'd love to chip in on this, but winter in the Seattle area's a pretty tame one. I'm itching to try out my homage to Michael Raphael's stealth binaural setup, though.. I'll see if I can get out to a mountain or somesuch before all the cold slips away.

Re: The "Winter" Library
We got some "snow" the other day. It turned really icy now. If i can manage im going up tomorrow morning int he forest to record some crunch footsteps.
The other thing i am recording is dawn chorus of a group of jackdaw's that is making a racket here every day.

Yep pretty tame winter here too so far, but we have had snow now that is still lying and it is sub 0° now.
I will try to get a few quiet ambience beds in the early morning on a field and in a forest if the weather allows for it. I always love the peace and quiet that the snow and cold bring.
Cheers!
Andrew

Re: The "Winter" Library
I sent shared sone recordings to you (zamboni and a pedestrian zone in winter) to you. Hope it worked.
I also have some recordings of people iceskating at a ice rink, but only in 48kHz. Would that be an issue if I'd want to submit those recordings?

Re: The "Winter" Library
I have recorded snow impacts, a bunch of ice sounds and footsteps.
A recommendation for footsteps, try to get in different movement types so the set is "complete", like walking, running, jumping and scuffing. It's how I have done it:
2-3 walk speeds, jogging, sprinting, jump/land and scuffs/turns
For each walk/run segment I record 32-64 step for sake of variation, 10-20 for jumping and the same for scuffs/turns. I have absolutely no need to go to the gym.

Should have everything you need in the first post of this thread. Let me know if anything isn't clear.
