Granular And Sample Based Synthesisers

Here is a list of granular and sample based software I am familiar with either directly or indirectly. Some information on usability and quality. Please add more info if you have experienced any of these units or others you have found useful.

High End

Symbolic Sound Kyma

A complete sound design environment

Mid Range

Camel Audio Alchemy
A good go to granular synth

Native Instruments Reaktor
Link: ... reaktor-5/
More intensive than the Alchemy to get results. Users can create good content with the grain cloud module.

Izotope Iris
Good quality sample based synthesizer with intuitive visual interface.

Low – No Cost

Chris Jeff’s Particularity
I can’t seam to get anything out of this unit. Please post below if you have achieved good results using this.

Sound Guru The Mangle

Lacks some effects features but seams to produce good results.

Reason Malstrom: Graintable synth native to Reason
Abelton Granulator: Granular synth native to Ableton
